In November 2017, L2 Defense acquired ATEC to expand capabilities and optimize offerings to the Military and First Responder communities. With this acquisition, L2 Defense gained ATEC’s tremendous history and reputation. See below for a brief overview of the ATEC story.
Advanced Technical and Educational Consultants, Inc. (also known as ATEC) was founded in 1999 by Mr. Jack McCartt, an industry renowned expert in Emergency Management and Fire Rescue Services. Jack leveraged his decades of experience as a Fire Fighter/Fire Chief in the State of Florida and his proven technical expertise as a FEMA Emergency Management Instructor and Curriculum Developer to establish a company obsessed with providing First Responders and Military Personnel with the highest quality training services possible. Jack and his team’s deep knowledge base, broad professional network, extreme attention to detail, and passionate focus on client/operator needs propelled the company to a position as the preferred Emergency Management training service provider for the U.S. Army and other Federal and State Government agencies.
Through its 18 years of operation, ATEC amassed a large pool of highly qualified, industry recognized subject matter experts (SMEs) in the areas of emergency response (fire, police, medical), CBRN defense, and homeland security. The company nurtured its pool of SMEs, providing on-going training opportunities and ensuring that certification and skill sets stayed ahead of industry standards. By 2017, ATEC’s resource pool consisted of more than 250 vetted and well-credentialed SMEs.
ATEC used its team to support a large portfolio of contracts. ATEC’s Government customer list included U.S. Army North, Joint Task Force – Civil Support (JTF-CS), National Guard Bureau, FEMA, FBI, National Fire Academy, and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. For their Government and Prime Contractor clients, ATEC coordinated, conducted, and evaluated large scale training programs at training sites around the world.
After a successful business partnership as two separate companies, L2 Defense acquired ATEC in November 2017. The two companies shared the same passion for the first responder and military user communities. The staff of both companies also shared similar commitments to pursuing and achieving corporate excellence for its staff and its clients. ATEC’s Fire Rescue history complemented L2 Defense’s strong military background. The combined company now offers the best of both worlds, passionately addressing all aspects of domestic emergency response and traditional military operations.
